L-82 Years

This section covers 1973-1980... The L-82 Years:

When the curtain rose on the `73 model year, Corvette enthusiasts were greeted by a mildly reworked `72 shark with no front bumper and no LT-1. The high-revving small-block LT-1 had been shelved, but it had been replaced by an equally powerful small-block, the soon-to-be-popular L-82 with its own set of credentials, but without the solid-lifters of the LT-1. It cranked out 250hp, compared to the 1972 LT-1's 255hp, and it cost $184 less than the LT-1. (click on years)
